Jawed Karim Biography: Co-founder of YouTube

Jawed Karim co-founded the world’s largest video sharing website,YouTube. He was born on October 28th 1979 in Merseburg, East Germany (GDR). As a child he moved to Neuss, Germany where he spent most of his time playing video games. Later he studied computer science engineering at the University of Munich from 1999 to 2004, where he met his future business partners Jawed Karim earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of Munich. In 2004 Jawed joined PayPal as a software engineer designing and building the original PayPal website for mobile devices.

Jawed was born in Merseburg, East Germany (GDR). Jawed came to Wisconsin with his family when he was one year old. Jawed attended Nicolet High School. Jawed moved to Silicon Valley with hopes to work for Netscape but was rejected because of his German Academic background so Jawed returned home and attended college locally at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Jawed co-founded YouTube while working on Ph.D. project at Stanford which Jawed completed in 2006 Jawed is currently the president of the board of directors at XPRIZE Foundation. Jawed is also an avid photographer, Jawed has visited over 190 countries photographing his experiences. Jawed Karim net worth was $50 million as of May 2014.

Jawed was born on 29th April 1979 in Merseburg, East Germany as the eldest child to a Bangladeshi father and a German mother as Jawed Habib Khan. Jawed was fond of animals from his childhood days and could have been a Veterinarian if not an Engineer or Computer Scientist which Jawed chose later to build up his career as he graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer science and Engineering.

The couple has no children yet but Kulmat is known for her social work done through “The Rising Sun” organization which she runs with Jawed. Jawed is often addressed as one of the most innovative persons by many people in academic circuit and industrial management due to his vast work done in different fields.

With the rise of video sharing on social media, many people were looking for a more vertical way to share their lives and one man saw this gap. He created YouTube as an online platform where anyone could post videos without any limitations or censorship from big corporations like Facebook who may restrict what you can and cannot say within your posts due in part by copyright law (this often happens).
